Helen Almberg

Born in Stockholm, Sweden. She went to Textile College for 2 years and then on to Anders Beckmans Art/Design College for 3 years and studied fashion and graphic design before ending up as a Graphic Artist working for Advertising agencies in Stockholm. She migrated to Australia to live on Magnetic Island and was a founding member of Magnetic Island Arts Coop. She also designed logos for private enterprises. After nearly 12 years on the Island it was time to move on and since 2001 she has been residing in Maleny on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, and is working with www.art2send.com.

Helen's 3D cards are made out of polymer clay which has then been fired. Occasionally sterling silver, metal threads, powdered pigments, gold leaf, beads and more have been used. These cards can be reused as a piece of jewellery and kept forever by peeling off the artwork and attaching it to a necklace, earrings or brooch, maybe made into a key ring, bookmark or magnet, the options are limitless.

Helen's art2send cards can be found at Noosa Regional Gallery, Art on Cairncross, Maleny, David Linton's Gallery, Maleny, Hyatt Regency Coolum, Tiffany Jones Fine Art Gallery, Buderim, Cairns Regional Gallery, Perc Tucker Regional Gallery, Townsville and most recently at Kenilworth Artspace.
